D-1 Greyhounds WIN NTBA Queen of the Court

Saturday, April 2 is day 1 of our first official tournament out of town, NTBA Queen of the Court. D-1 Greyhounds show up at 7:45 am at Carolina Courts ready for some basketball. Their opponents QC United-4 are ready to play as well. First half the score remains relatively close and the Greyhounds’ typical defense is on point as always. Second half the Greyhounds begin to pull away and take away their first win of the tournament with a 34-12 victory.

Game 2 comes at 2:15 against the Stanley Slammers. Greyhounds start strong and finish strong in this one. The Greyhound defense was completely dominating only allowing four shots in the whole first half. This time Greyhound offense came alive as well. The Greyhounds played amazing team ball and the points were shared throughout the entire team. Final score of this one was 44-2!

Game one of bracket play begins at 11:45 against the Burke Jammers. This game is very similar to the games of yesterday in which the greyhound’s defense is way too strong for the Jammers. Greyhounds take the semi final victory relatively easy with the final score of 38-9.

Championship game begins promptly at 2:15 against the QC United-4. Greyhounds faced this team yesterday and won rather easily. QC United was ready to play today. They jumped out on the Greyhounds with a 6-0 lead. QC United was ready for the Greyhound defense today. The two teams battled a tough first half with several different lead changes and a halftime score of 13-10 D-1 Greyhounds leading. After missing a lot of easy buckets in the first half the Greyhounds slowly started to pull away from QC United in the second half. Greyhounds take home the title with a 31-16 final score.
